Solar Eclipse

The Solar Eclipse Presentation: March 9, 2024, 1:30 pm

Join us for a presentation about the solar eclipse before the phenomenon! Our presenter, Dr. Catherine Pilachowski is a distinguished professor of Astronomy and a Co-chair for the IU Solar Task Force.

She will be discussing how communities all over Southern and Central Indiana are preparing for the total solar eclipse, and how millions of people are expected to travel to Indiana to witness the event. She will also explain what people can expect to see, what makes a total eclipse so exciting, how to view them safely, and what other surprises may lurk in the sky during the eclipse.

This presentation is a partnership with Johnson County Public Library. This event is free and open to the public! The presentation is at the Johnson County Museum of History located at 135 N. Main St. Franklin, IN 46131 on Saturday, March 9th, 2024 at 1:30 pm.

The date of the solar eclipse is Monday, April 8th from 1:45 pm to 4:23 pm.
