Film, Fact & Fiction: Jurassic Park
Celebrate the science and stories behind one of cinema’s most iconic adventures on Saturday, August 8, 2026, from 6:00–7:00 p.m.! Join us at the Johnson County Museum of History for a special presentation before a screening of Jurassic Park. Museum Director David Pfeiffer will share the fascinating story of Trafalgar-born paleontologist Elmer Riggs, whose discoveries helped shape our understanding of dinosaurs. Johnson County Public Library staff will explore the life and work of author Michael Crichton, whose bestselling novel inspired the blockbuster film. After the presentations, head to the Historic Artcraft Theatre to enjoy Jurassic Park on the big screen. The first 20 attendees who register will receive a free ticket to the movie.
