The public is invited to a casual reception for the opening of the new art exhibition featuring the works of local painter John Strickland, on February 17th from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the Johnson County Museum.

The exhibit, entitled “The Language of Color”, will remain on display during regular museum hours through May 26th.  The exhibit features the bold and expressive acrylic paintings which include figurative, abstract, landscape, whimsical, and jazz oriented subjects.

Mr. Strickland is taking advantage of the museum’s tall ceilings to display some of his larger works, including an installation of painted bamboo poles.
